There are two essential components of Accident Forgiveness that we would like you to be aware of before you decide if this endorsement is right for you:

  1. Loyalty To Your Insurer Pays Off: Let’s say you were the at-fault driver in a car crash. If you have Accident Forgiveness, you will keep the insurance surcharge off your policy, but only if you stay with the same insurance carrier. If you decide to move your car insurance to a different carrier, your new insurer will see your at-fault accident and quote your new policy accordingly, and all those points you thought you avoided will come right back.
  2. This Is A One And Done Option: Another critical thing to know about Accident Forgiveness is that you can only use this option once. That means if you “cash in” on this endorsement after an at-fault accident, and then you, or anyone else on your policy, were to be the cause of another crash, the coverage cannot be used again. You have to wait until your driving record is clean to be eligible for Accident Forgiveness again.
